June Android security updates 👌 Google patched many flaws (install updates!)

Lead: Google’s June-July 2026 Android bulletin fixed 100+ vulnerabilities, including actively exploited zero-days; keeping devices updated is now critical. Android Open Source Project +1

What happened (short): Google released a large patch bundle (June 2026) that addressed over 100 issues and included fixes for two critical, actively exploited vulnerabilities. OEMs and users must apply updates to close these avenues.

Android Open Source Project +1 Impact: Unpatched devices may be vulnerable to privilege escalation or remote code execution.

Attackers often chain such flaws to install persistent malware.

What users and admins should do now (quick steps):

Check your phone’s Settings → System → System update and install updates immediately.

For corporate devices, enforce patching via MDM and block risky apps/unknown sources.

Encourage backups and enable device encryption. If a device vendor is slow to release patches, consider using devices with better update records (e.g., Pixel family) until fixed.
